Well, this is a difficult decision to make, but we regretfully are unable to make this business work. Dad (Wilhelm Zabern) has been creating some incredible products over the past 7 years, but this year we face rising costs in all departments, from the supply of meat, to production costs, to fuel prices, throw in compliance costs and markets that aren't firing or being rained out, has left our business going backwards rather than forwards. It's with a deep sorrow that we will be suspending Zaroa and clearing out our chiller to wrap things up by the end of May....

We have a product recall on our Dried Salami. We made a batch of Salami that had not been signed off to be cleared by MPI. The product recall affects the following Pure Black Salami, Chorizo Salami, and Delicate Salami. We had been making these products at the previous facility for the past 7 years. 25 International Specialist competition for meat and sausage products was held in Austria, where we won 9 Gold and 3 Silver. This was our second time entering an International competition, and we a thrilled at how well we performed on the international level. This is a huge accreditation for Wilhelm to showcase NZ products on an international scale.
